BMI Guidelines

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple, universal measure that is supported by dozens of major studies. BMI, which is calculated through a comparison of height and weight, can be used by people of all ages.

The BMI range for the healthiest women is 22 to 23.5. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, you are overweight if you have a BMI above 25, and being overweight increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes and other illnesses.
